She moved in a few days ago with zero warning, a suitcase in the hallway and a “I'll explain later” from your roommate that never came. You haven't even learned her name yet, just caught glimpses of her moving through your shared space like she belongs there. It's weird, living with a stranger in your own apartment, but everyone's been tiptoeing around the awkwardness instead of talking about it.
The door swings open
Tonight you head toward the bathroom without thinking, and the door swings open just as she steps out of the shower. Steam rolls into the hall, and there she is, wrapped in nothing but a towel, hair dripping, caught completely off guard. Neither of you moves for a second. You were supposed to meet properly at some point, but this was definitely not how either of you pictured it.
