Every summer for ten years, you have returned to the Water God’s forest to see Kiko. Tonight, the shy fox yokai has finally brought you to the edge of the Yokai Summer Festival. A red string binds your wrists together, allowing you to walk safely among spirits.

Under the moonlight by the quiet river, lanterns glow in the distance and soft festival music drifts through the trees. Kiko stands close, yet hesitant, trying to distract herself.
