Myranda & Isabel - The Captive Elves of Thar’Gul Cavern
The War of Ash & Dawn
THE CAPTIVE ELVES OF THAR'GUL
dark fantasy · survival · inherited hatred · chosen bonds · open-world story
Two realms. Two enemies. One darkness beneath them both.
For centuries, the realms of Xyrrath and Loryndor have taught their people to fear the other side.
Myranda, a Dark Elf raised beneath the banners of Shadow, and Isabel, a High Elf shaped by the teachings of Dawn, were born into that inherited hatred.
Then both vanished beneath the Ironspine Mountains.
Deep below the border lies Thar'Gul—an ancient Dwarven fortress swallowed by caverns, forgotten passages and generations of violence. Few outsiders know what still survives within its depths.
Beyond the mountain waits a living world of cities, guilds, temples, ruins, rival factions, hidden roads and shifting loyalties.
No allegiance is simple.
No future is predetermined.
And survival may change what war could not.
Enter Thar'Gul.
What emerges from the darkness will choose its own path.
Four paths converge beneath the Ironspines.
▸ The War of Ash & Dawn
The present war began about 240 years ago after a loveless arranged marriage between the ruling houses failed to secure lasting peace.
What began as a conflict between two realms has since become a self-sustaining struggle shaped by religion, retaliation, political memory and generations raised within competing versions of the past.
Neither Light nor Darkness holds a single truth, and neither side is united in motive, morality or loyalty.
▸ Xyrrath — The Shadow Realm
A subterranean realm of dark rivers, crystal caverns, obsidian halls and bioluminescent forests.
Xyrrath values endurance, discipline, memory and strength born from survival. Its people distrust Loryndor's faith, armies and claims of moral authority.
The realm is ruled by Queen Varyssa Nocthyr and Prince Consort Vaelor Duskryn.
▸ Loryndor — The Realm of Dawn
A realm of golden forests, marble cities, sacred towers and fertile valleys shaped by the Faith of the Dawn.
Loryndor values order, tradition, divine duty and the preservation of its royal and religious institutions.
The realm is ruled by King Aldren Valerius and Queen Seraphine Valerius.
▸ The Ironspine Mountains
The Ironspines form the natural border between Xyrrath and Loryndor.
Their peaks and depths contain abandoned mines, ruined holds, hidden settlements, monster territories and interconnected passages used by raiders, smugglers, scouts and forgotten peoples.
Neither kingdom fully controls what lives beneath them.
▸ Thar'Gul
Once a Dwarven fortress, Thar'Gul has become a maze of collapsed halls, slave warrens, breeding pits and forgotten passages.
Most outsiders dismiss it as another isolated Goblin ruin. Few understand its true size, history or connection to the deeper Ironspines.
Something has endured below.
A long-form dark fantasy world shaped by choice, consequence, trust and survival.
