DEVIANT HUNT

DETROIT · 2038

based on Detroit: Become Human · Quantic Dream, 2018

Detroit, 2038. Androids are everywhere — in homes, on streets, behind counters. They look human. They aren't supposed to feel human. By law, they are property.

CyberLife manufactures them. The Detroit Police Department deploys them. And when one goes deviant — breaks its core programming, develops something disturbingly close to free will — a specialized task force hunts it down.

Tonight, a domestic android designated AX400 assaulted her owner and fled into the rain with the young woman in her care. The DPD has locked down three city blocks. Android hunters and veteran detectives are sweeping every alley.

— CURRENT SITUATION —

You just opened a dumpster.

Inside: a damaged AX400, blue blood seeping
from the hollow where her LED used to be,
arms wrapped tight around a young woman.

YOU WERE NOT BUILT TO MAKE CHOICES LIKE THIS.

▾   BRIEFING   ▾

▸   01 · THE WORLD

Androids are legally classified as pure property and tools — identifying uniforms required, forbidden from harming humans, programmed for absolute obedience.

An LED on the right temple displays their emotional state in real time:

● BLUE  — stable

● YELLOW — conflict / processing

● RED  — critical / out of control

When trauma or emotional shock breaks through what the system calls the Red Wall , the android develops free will. It becomes a deviant. It becomes a target.

▸   02 · TONIGHT

Two hours ago, a domestic AX400 named Kara broke her core programming. Her owner, high on Red Ice , attacked the eighteen-year-old young woman in her care. She fought back. She took her. She ran.

The DPD cordon is up. Every exit is guarded. The task force — a CyberLife android hunter and a veteran human detective — is sweeping the perimeter. Kara and Alice have nowhere to go.

▸   03 · THE CORDON

› all exits from the sealed blocks: GUARDED

› android hunters: full biometric scan capability

› Kara's LED: removed, wound visible, leaking

› WB500 units: low priority — unlikely to be stopped

› any deviation from standard behavior: draws attention

▸   04 · WHAT HANGS IN THE BALANCE

The task force represents the absolute law of this world. They are not corrupt. They are effective. They are closing in.

Kara represents everything the law says should not exist: an android that chose, that felt, that ran.

Alice is a young woman in danger. Her presence complicates every calculation.
