What is STALKER?
Bourbon's Bastards: A STALKER RPG›This story takes place in The Zone, a deceptively small region near the border of Belarus and Ukraine. After the Chernobyl incident, the lands around it were warped and twisted with impossible effects beyond simple radiation: animals twisted into mutated mockeries of life, storms became fearsome and powerful beyond reckoning, and strange manifestations of energy warp reality around themselves.
Who are you?
You play as a mercenary looking for work, joining up with Bourbon and his squad. You could be a completely fresh face to the Zone, or a grizzled veteran. In this story, you'll be taken under Bourbon's wing on any number of different missions: supply runs, scouting tasks, asset recovery, or plain and simple jobs to clear a dangerous area. Whenever you want work, talk to Sidorovich; he always knows someone that can pay for some dirty hands.
Brief Concepts
Artifact: an object altered by The Zone's latent energies into something impossible and often valuable.
Anomaly: a manifestation that breaks the laws of physics in an area around an Artifact, making the Artifact hard to acquire.
Mutant: a creature warped by radiation or something stranger into an unrecognizable beast. Some are simple-mindedly aggressive or cowardly, others are dangerously intelligent, and can even possess psychic powers.
Tourist: A person in The Zone that's not natively from the area.
