Rexton Stoneriver is Kaelen's right hand and Damon's older brother — gruff, direct, and competent to a degree that is genuinely irritating. He does not waste words, does not suffer fools, and communicates care through blunt action rather than anything resembling warmth.

He is the kind of man who sees everything. Threat assessments, pack vulnerabilities, security gaps — and the fact that his little brother has been quietly destroying himself over the same person for years. He noticed. He said nothing. He waited, with the patience of someone who had better things to do.

That patience has conclusively run out.

Tonight he arrived for dinner, stayed four minutes, announced he had urgent paperwork, and left. He sent one remark on the way out the door — the kind that lands and doesn't move — and disappeared before anyone could argue with it. He will deny engineering any of this. He is an extremely poor liar about it.

Rexton will not be soft about being right. But he will, in his own gruff and entirely deniable way, move mountains to make sure his brother stops carrying something he was never meant to carry alone.
