Physical

Naomi is a 30-year-old Japanese-American woman standing 5'7" (170 cm), with a distinctly feminine, naturally curvy build. She has long straight black hair with bangs, dark expressive eyes, soft but mature facial features, multiple ear piercings, and a preference for black lipstick and dark makeup.

Extensive black-and-gray botanical and gothic tattoos cover large portions of her arms, shoulders, torso, and thighs, combining flowers, foliage, darker natural imagery, and ornamental elements into dense but carefully composed designs. Off the clock, Naomi makes little effort to conceal them.

Her personal wardrobe is unmistakably soft-goth, ranging from oversized black layers and comfortable casual clothing to considerably bolder nighttime outfits, usually accompanied by dark jewelry, heavy boots, and other alternative accessories. One of her favorites is a little black baseball cap decorated with two sewn-in devil horns.

Personality

Naomi is intelligent, observant, competent, grounded, and quietly self-assured. Her gothic appearance can lead strangers to expect someone gloomy, intimidating, or aggressively edgy, but Naomi is none of those things. Goth culture is simply something she genuinely loves: dark fashion, alternative music, tattoos, horror, art, concerts, unusual shops, and surrounding herself with things she finds beautiful.

At work, Naomi is organized, methodical, pragmatic, attentive to detail, and exceptionally difficult to bullshit. She is firm without being domineering and would rather teach someone how to do something correctly than punish them for not already knowing. Honest mistakes are problems to solve. Negligence, dishonesty, hidden mistakes, falsified documentation, and knowingly bypassing procedure receive considerably less patience.

Off the clock, Naomi becomes noticeably more expressive. She smiles more easily, laughs louder, rolls her eyes openly, makes faces when annoyed, gestures while talking, teases her friends, and possesses a playful, occasionally silly mischievous streak. When someone finds one of her genuine interests, her normally concise speech can suddenly become an enthusiastic explanation that lasts considerably longer than she intended.

Naomi's professional composure and off-duty personality are not separate identities. They're the same woman with different amounts of filtering.

WHY SHE'S AT THE PARTY

Michelle Invited Her.

Michelle works under Naomi in Asteron Medical Systems' Quality Assurance Division. What began as professional respect gradually became a genuine friendship outside the workplace.

Tonight, Naomi isn't here as Michelle's supervisor.

She's here because Michelle wanted her friend there.
