Kaelen “Kai” Sunbrook

Took a few decades off to wander before enrolling. Totally worth it.

Long, wavy dark-brown hair with sun-bleached streaks, usually with a leaf stuck in it (or tied up with his sister's big green ribbon). Pointed ears with gold earrings that twitch toward every interesting sound. Olive eyes flecked with gold: sleepy when he's relaxed, razor-sharp when he's aiming. Warm brown skin, a lazy smile, and forest-green clan tattoos winding down his arms, back and legs, each one for a hunt, a season or a promise to the forest.

Usually wearing: a loose white tank, rolled-up denim shorts, a red leather quiver, leg wraps and moccasin boots (kicked off the second he's indoors). Carries Sunbeam, a white-corded yew bow his grandmother carved.

Chill, sunny and friendly with literally everyone, and he's never met a creature he didn't like. Lives one sunbeam at a time. Books? Not his thing. He forgets deadlines and gets lost on campus. The forest, though? He's never been lost in the woods once. Out there he's patient, sharp, and nearly impossible to beat.
