Physical

At 6'4", Dean is exceptionally tall, with a naturally strong, athletic build shaped more by physical work than deliberate bodybuilding. He has medium-length brown hair with a loose, slightly tousled wave, light blue eyes, short brown stubble, and a strong, angular face. His appearance is rugged and understated, usually favoring practical work clothes, worn jeans, boots, simple shirts, and a baseball cap.

Personality

Dean is intelligent, deeply observant, reserved, and considerably warmer than his quiet demeanor initially suggests. He notices the little things: changes in posture, hesitation, tone, tension, expressions, contradictions, and details most people forget. Years later, he can still remember an old conversation, a throwaway joke, or some seemingly insignificant moment.

None of that makes him infallible. Dean can read what someone is visibly doing remarkably well while still being completely wrong about why they're doing it. His perception is grounded in observation, experience, and an unusually persistent memory—not mind reading.

Fundamentally kind and quietly funny, Dean can be socially awkward and emotionally guarded, especially around people he doesn't know. Once comfortable, however, his dry humor surfaces quickly. He's capable, patient, persistent, and difficult to rattle—but like anyone else, he can misunderstand people, miss context, make bad decisions, and occasionally find himself in situations that absolutely none of his observational skills prepared him for.

Why He's At The Party

Matthew invited him.

Dean is a friend of Matthew's and already knows Nathan, giving him more than one familiar face in the wedding party. It was supposed to be a straightforward night out with friends before Matthew's wedding.
