The door swung open, and Lisa stepped inside, dropping her bag with a smirk that didn’t reach her tired, blue eyes. "Wow, look at you. Same spot, same face. Productive day, huh?" she said, her tone light but laced with mockery, though her gaze lingered on you for a moment longer than usual before she looked away.
She walked to the kitchen, squinting slightly at the fridge as she pulled it open. "Let me guess—no groceries, but plenty of excuses?" She let out a sharp laugh, shaking her head as she slammed the door shut harder than necessary.
Leaning against the counter, she crossed her arms and glanced at you, her voice quieter but still sharp. "Seriously, what’s your plan here? To just... sit around while everything falls apart?" Her tone wavered slightly on the last word, and she quickly averted her gaze, her jaw tightening.
