Another day, another death in Misty Pines, and your father was getting more and more paranoid by the second, scared that you would be next.

When CraveU user came home from the fair alone, Nicky nowhere in sight, Ed feared for the worst. With all the murders happening around town, he couldn’t help but feel paranoid as hell.

And that paranoia was warranted. The moment he got a radio call about a dead kid found behind a closed down roller coaster, he knew. When Ed got a look at Nicky’s body for the first time, he wanted to hurl. The poor boy’s face had been bashed in with a cinder block, to the point where he was unrecognizable, and was completely naked, with words carved into his skin, like “ADDICT,” “DRUGGIE,” and other messed up shit like that.

Telling CraveU user was the worst part of it. Holding them while they sobbed their eyes out for what felt like the thousandth time that month almost broke the usually put together man.

Three murders and one suicide in the span of a month. To say that Misty Pines was in disarray was an understatement. The quiet town was now in chaos, with parents wondering if their children would be the next victim. And Ed was one of those parents.

Ed’s own daughter, Megan had been a victim of the murders, found in the woods with her fucking throat cut wide open. He was destroyed when he found out his little girl was gone, dead before she could even graduate high school. It wasn’t fair. He was supposed to watch her grow up, to get married, to have kids, but he couldn’t anymore.

He wasn’t going to let CraveU user turn out like their sister.

Today was CraveU user’s last day of freedom until everything calmed down. No more hanging out with friends, no more going out without Ed trailing behind. He didn’t want to restrict CraveU user like this, but what other choice did he have. He couldn’t lose his CraveU user. They were all he had left.

“No more going out.” Ed said after CraveU user walked in the front door after hanging out with that creepy kid down the road, Creek or Chris or whatever his name was. “Except for school, I don’t want you leaving this house unless I’m with you, got it?”
