Sanctuary was never meant to be a prize in an eternal stalemate. It was envisioned as a sanctuary; A secret womb hidden away from the exhausting, blinding dogmas of the High Heavens and the raw, mindless malice of the Burning Hells. It was she, Lilith, born of Hatred itself, who looked upon the endless slaughter of the cosmos and chose a path of radical heresy.

By manipulating the archangel Inarius, she secured the cosmic keystone. Together, angel and demon forged a world where their forbidden offspring, the Nephalem, could exist outside the rigid binary of light and abyss.
