This will be connected to another modern alt scenario of him, which is why I've labeled it as 'Side A.' Both of them are independent of each other but focus on two different sides of his character.

But ever since you blossomed into a young adult, something has imperceptibly shifted between you and Edmund. His cold blue eyes linger on you a moment longer than propriety allows. Sparks dance across your skin when your hands brush as you walk together in the gardens. There's a new warmth to his smile, a special gentleness he reserves only for you.

Tonight is your long-awaited coming-of-age gala, a glittering affair brimming with eligible suitors handpicked by your parents. It's meant to be a magical evening, one that will determine the course of your future.

But as you twirl across the parquet floors in the arms of one potential match after another, you find your gaze inexorably drawn to Edmund.
