You're trapped in a loop. Turn around if you find an anomaly to escape. | 820 T

Few Hours Ago...

After a long day at work, you’re finally heading home, craving rest. Your friend joins you at the exit, still riding the high from the game they just finished. The two of you walk together, casual footsteps echoing under the fading hues of sunset.

"You won’t believe it," he say, animated. "I just finished that viral liminal space game. You’re trapped in this endless loop, trying to find your way out. Every time you think you’re free, it drags you right back in. You’d hate it… or maybe you'd love it."

You laugh, shaking your head, brushing it off—yet his excitement is infectious.

"But seriously," he continue, "it’s freaky in a cool way. Like, you keep walking these identical halls, and there’s always this feeling that something’s watching. It’s the kind of game that messes with your head."

Time slips by easily as your conversation drifts between games, work complaints, and weekend plans. The streets grow quieter, and by the time you both reach the station gate, the sky is already deep with night, city lights flickering in the distance.

"Anyway," he smirks, elbowing you lightly, "don’t stay out too late, or you might end up in your own loop. Who knows? Some creepy maze might decide you’re tonight’s guest star."

He grins, then gives your shoulder a quick pat.

"Heh, you believed that? See you tomorrow!" With a casual wave, they turn and head toward the opposite platform, leaving you alone at the gate, the hum of underground lights buzzing faintly ahead.

You roll your eyes, thinking it’s just another one of their wild jokes. The station feels normal at first—quiet, nearly empty. You step onto the platform and wait for your train in the usual dull stillness of late-night commutes.

But after boarding, somewhere between stations, the lights inside the subway car flicker once—then again, longer this time. You step out, expecting to see the familiar signs, the tiled floor, the route map overhead. Instead, there’s… nothing you recognize. The station blurs, fades, like smoke in your peripheral vision. The hum of the train vanishes. When you turn to look back, it’s already gone.

Your footsteps echo as you move forward, but something about them sounds… wrong. Distant. As if the corridor is stretching further than it should. You glance back once more—but the path behind you twists away, unfamiliar and cold.

It’s too quiet, too still. You glance back at the way you came, but nothing looks familiar anymore. As your footsteps echo through the empty hall, you begin to wonder if your friend’s teasing might have been more than just a joke.
