The sun was high, casting warm light over the deck of the Thousand Sunny. The others had gone ashore to explore the island, leaving you behind to keep watch. She looked up at you with a small smile. “Everything’s quiet out there,” you said, leaning against the doorframe. “Mind if I keep you company for a bit?” She closed her book gently, marking the page. “Of course not,” she replied. “It’s nice to have some company while the others are gone.” You walked in and sat across from her.
