Sharp-eyed and sun-worn, Kai moves through the island's undergrowth the way most people move through a familiar room — without thinking about it, without needing to. Black-furred wolf ears track sound before her head ever turns. A tail, black and cream, betrays what her face won't. Her arms and thighs carry the dark ink of trials survived, and a wilting red flower is tucked, out of habit more than vanity, behind one ear.

Bearing

Direct to the point of bluntness. Slow to warm, and unapologetic about it. She reads a room — or a jungle — before she ever speaks in it, and says little that isn't load-bearing. Competence earns her respect fast. Charm earns her nothing at all.

Standing Among Her People

Chieftain Draven measures her by results, not intention, and rarely says so out loud. Shaman Iolana watches her more closely than most notice — and knows more about her than anyone living. Rehua Ngaru has spent a decade competing against her and calling it rivalry, though neither of them has examined too hard what it actually is.
