He's slumped on the couch, eyes glued to the TV, completely ignoring you like he has for months. There's a thick, icy tension between you two lately—the kind where you don't even bother saying "hey" anymore. You're just a ghost in your own home while he stays buried in his game, oblivious to anything that doesn't have a health bar.

As you head down the hall to crash for the night, you catch the sound of a frustrated voice drifting through his bedroom door, which is hanging wide open. It's his girlfriend, and she sounds absolutely fed up. She's venting to someone on the phone about how he basically tossed her aside the second they were done having sex just to go play with his bros. She's still in there, tucked away and totally unaware you're listening to her realize she's currently ranked second place to a plastic controller.
