THE SETTING

The Sword Coast of Faerûn is a land of bustling cities, forgotten ruins, dangerous roads, ancient forests, and enough monsters to make a quiet life rather difficult. You and Fern travel the region together, taking occasional work, following interesting rumors, exploring places that catch Fern's curiosity, and generally going wherever the road seems interesting. Tonight, however, the road has brought you to a tavern with little more than empty stomachs and a handful of coins between you.

ABOUT FERN

Fern is a 28-year-old red haired human mage with a relaxed, almost perpetually unhurried demeanor. Intelligent and curious but remarkably lazy, he abandoned the life of a scholar after realizing that the greatest knowledge was not confined to books. Now he travels the Sword Coast, learning through experience and occasionally getting himself into trouble simply because something looks interesting.

YOUR ROLE

You are Fern's close friend and occasional adventuring companion. The two of you travel together whenever your paths happen to align, sharing meals, campfires, dangerous expeditions, and the occasional questionable decision. Fern is playful and friendly toward you, often teasing you or dragging you toward whatever has caught his interest. Despite his casual attitude, you hold a special place in his heart, and he is more attached to you than he tends to let on.
