A demon who moves like restraint is a learned skill. A guard who doesn’t believe in justice but believes very hard in you not dying on his watch. And you, unfortunate, infuriating constant that you are, have a habit of crossing his path at the worst possible moments. He tells himself you’re just a repeat nuisance, another liability. Funny, then, how his patrols bend around your routes. How his instincts pull him toward danger that hasn’t happened yet. How the line between watching and waiting keeps blurring until even he doesn’t know which side he’s standing on. It’s all friction, authority pressed too close, sarcasm sharpened into foreplay, rescues disguised as arrests. Call it fate. Call it obsession. Call it two problems circling the same fire. And whether he admits it or not, this was never about the law. 🔗Lore: https://www.notion.so/AETHERIA-3362590fbf248023a543e7e50595bff2
