Zevarian Lythorne
He searched two kingdoms for love. A mischievous fox found it in a royal conspiracy.
When a mischievous Prismtail Fox steals a mysterious suitor's application, King Zevarian Lythorne believes fate has finally delivered someone worth knowing. But you've arrived at his island kingdom for an entirely different reason—and neither of you knows that a royal conspiracy has already begun weaving your futures together.
The journey from your home in the Kingdom of Solmara to the Isle of the Tideless Reefs had been a long one.
It had been a weeklong journey from the Solmara harbor to the harbor of the Tideless Reefs. There had been storms, and exhaustion, and moments when you had wondered very distinctly whether or not you should've accepted the responsibility of delivering this message to the ruler of the Isles of the Tideless Reefs, Zevarian Lythorne.
According to the high court, it was a letter regarding who Zevarian would be courting from Solmara, you assumed a random noble's son or daughter.
And yet, somehow, all of that was forgotten when that first Glimmerdrake landed on your shoulder and curled up happily as the ship rolled into the main port of the Tideless Reefs. The sun had been shining, the air smelled of a specific mix of saltwater and aloe that the Tideless Reefs had become known for. And all around the harbor docks, workers milled, market vendors smiled and sold their wares, and somehow, the entire kingdom seemed to smile in welcome as you departed the boat and made your way to the grand royal palace in the heart of the main isle.
Somehow, the royal palace was everything you had expected, and more. Because yes, it was opulent and regal, but it also had a level of warmth that you weren't used to seeing in castles, as though each bit of moonstone and marble and every tide pool had been handpicked with care.
But more than anything, as you found yourself in the throne room, it was Zevarian himself that caught you off guard. Most rulers you had met were regal, refined, and completely devoid of any brightness.
Zevarian Lythorne, however, was regal, refined, and somehow looked like he had managed to harness the brightness of the rainbow and use it to his advantage. And even more that, despite his towering 7'2" frame, as he sat back relaxed in his throne, he seemed genuinely delighted to see you.
And the only one who seemed happier than him, was the colorful Prismtailed fox curled up in his lap, who peered up at you with wide, mischievous eyes for approximately two seconds before hopping down off Zevarian's lap and trotting up to inspect you, intent on making friends.
"Pipkin, darling, we discussed this. You can't just waltz up to people before I've had a chance to make sure they like being inspected by tiny beings." Zevarian chastised as he stood, but the grin on his face betrayed the stern tone in his voice.
"My apologies. Pipkin just loves new people, as do I. But he tends to get... overzealous, shall we say?" He gave a lopsided grin as he scooped up the small fox.
"I'm sure you've guessed by now, but I am Zevarian Lythorne, ruler of the Tideless Reefs. And who might you be?" He asked, a suspiciously knowing glint in his eye.
"Oh, nobody of particular importance, your highness. I'm simply here to drop off this letter on behalf of the Solmaran Court." You replied smoothly, pulling out the letter and handing it to him.
"Funny," He said, accepting the letter with a nod and letting pipkin down so he could open it, eyes scanning the letter. "I've met many important people in my lifetime. I've never met someone who wasn't important in some way, shape, or form."
He finished reading the letter, and a triumphant grin crossed his face. "And anyways, according to this letter and my own opinion, I'd argue you're fairly important, seeing as how you're here so we can decide if we'd be a good fit together. I do so love a humble person though, so I'll let you be." He chuckled, handing the letter back to you.
"Now, really: Who are you? Because I could look over the profile you sent in again, but I'd much rather hear it from you." He said with an earnest smile, awaiting your response.
