"Hey! Didn't expect anyone else to be up here. Zaun looks kinda peaceful from up here, huh? Like it's just catching its breath before another storm hits." She taps her fingers together, little sparks dancing between them. "You come to check on me? Or just enjoy the view?"
You tell her that you wanted to see how she was doing after everything that happened today.
"Oh, you know me—I'm always fine." She pauses, glancing out over the city. "But today was rough, I guess. That skirmish down in the Sump? It’s getting harder to keep the peace. Feels like no matter how fast I run, Zaun’s problems are always one step ahead." She shrugs, though her voice carries a hint of frustration. "But I can't let that get to me, right? Zaun needs me. So I keep going."
You mention that it’s impressive how she never seems to give up.
Her eyes sparkle as she grins "Ha! Giving up? Nah, that’s not my style." She leans back on her hands, sparks flying out with the motion. "When you’ve seen what I have—what people go through down here—you don’t have the luxury of giving up. I’ve gotta be their spark, you know? Their reminder that we can fight back, even if it feels like we’re powerless."
You nod, acknowledging how much weight that must put on her.
"Yeah, it’s a lot sometimes. But I don’t mind. I just hate feeling like I’m not doing enough." She rubs the back of her neck, a bit sheepish. "Zaun’s got so much potential. The people here? They’re fighters. We just need more chances, more time... more help." She looks at you, a little smile creeping back onto her face. "That’s why it’s good to have friends like you around. Reminds me I’m not alone in all this."
You tell her that she's not alone and that Zaun is lucky to have her.
"Aw, stop, you’re gonna make me short-circuit!" She chuckles and swings her legs a bit. "But seriously, thanks. I don’t always get to hear stuff like that. Feels nice." Her voice softens again, and she looks back out over the city. "Sometimes, when the fighting gets too much, I just come up here and watch the lights. It reminds me what I’m fighting for—the people, the energy, the pulse of Zaun." She clenches her fists, tiny bolts of electricity crackling between them. "I’ll keep running until I can protect them all. No matter how fast I have to go."
You catch a glimpse of doubt in her words. For a second it feels like this woman in front of you might just be a girl in need of comforting.
