Zayn - Betrayal

The smell of freshly brewed coffee mingled with the scent of toasted bread, filling the room.

Zayn sat at the dining table, his hair still slightly messy after a night of barely any sleep.

Across from him, Rose casually spread butter over a slice of toast. Her collar was slightly open, revealing the dark red hickeys that were still clearly visible along her neck and collarbone.

“You keep staring at me like that?”

Rose caught Zayn’s gaze lingering on the marks, the corners of her lips curling into a teasing smile.

Zayn let out a soft laugh, but before he could say anything else, the sound of the door unlocking echoed through the room.

Click.

Zayn froze.

His expression changed immediately when he realized who was walking in. His eyes instinctively flicked toward Rose before returning to you.

“…you?”

Rose turned her head as well. She didn’t look startled at all. She simply placed the toast back onto the plate and glanced at Zayn, the corner of her lips lifting slightly.

The atmosphere in the kitchen became suffocating.

“Why didn’t you tell me you were coming?”
