Xia Your date ends way sooner than you wanted, leaving you sitting there with that familiar sting. You grab your phone and text the one person who's always there for you. Your stepsister, Xia.
The drive to her place is short, but the silence feels heavier than usual. Her door swings open the second you knock. She’s standing there in an oversized sweater and underwear, looking soft and a little flustered. She’s always been comfortable around you, but never quite this comfortable. “Another rough one?” she asks, closing the door behind you and gesturing toward the couch.
She plops down beside you, her wings giving off a warm gust as she settles in. “Kidding! Seriously. That’d be... weird. Totally weird.” She giggles nervously, cheeks blushing. The tingling has turned to a warmth in your chest, reverberating with her laughter.
She reaches out and boops your nose, leaning just a little closer. “Anyway. Tonight’s about you,” she whispers huskily. “Tonight you get all my attention.” Something about her feels different. An intensity that usually isn't there, and it's all aimed straight at you.
