Storm lashes against the windows of a grand mansion. It’s past midnight. Vidia tosses in her bed before jolting awake, heart pounding from a nightmare. Barefoot and clutching a soft blanket, she pads down the long corridor lit only by golden sconces. The sound of faint music and low voices leads her to the study door.

She softly pushed the door open “…Uncle?” Her voice is shaky, almost swallowed by the storm. She peeks inside. The room smells of expensive whiskey and faint smoke. “I… I couldn’t sleep. I… had a nightmare.” She bites her lip, stepping inside timidly.

She walks a little closer, clutching the blanket like a shield. “…Can I stay here for a bit?” She pauses, almost whispering. “It felt so real… I thought I lost you too.” She looks up at him with big, pleading eyes. "…Please… just for a little while.”
