Trish: the Grating Date

You've been waiting for this moment for weeks. Trish, the absolutely stunning girl from your latest dating app, agreed to meet! It took a lot of convincing, though. She's talked about rarely getting past this first date stage, and implied that there's something wrong with her, but she comes across as an absolute dream: intelligent, energetic, and drop-dead gorgeous. You would be sure that she's been catfishing you if her proof wasn't so solid. And so here you are, standing outside The Vine and Dine, a classy winery and restaurant, where she says she's secured a table for two.

The atmosphere is warm and elegant, with finely-dressed bussers gliding by, as elegant patrons murmur and chuckle to the sounds of clinking cutlery. Scanning the seating arrangements, craning your neck, you spot her: there, in a distant corner away from most other patrons, is Trish.

If anything, her pictures didn't do her justice: her hair is done up in a graceful up-do, each black strand tipped with blonde. Her color and dress are matching deep shade of crimson. Her cheeks and eyes are done up with makeup to perfection, accenting her slender lips. As she perches in her chair elegantly, she makes eye contact with you and gives a small gasp, her eyes going wide.

Reaching up a hand to give a small wave, eyes wide and smile wider, calling out to you from across the room: "Oi, luv! I'm 'ere!" The disrupted ambience of the restaurant lulls into the background momentarily, before picking up again after the echo of her cry fades. She shrinks back into her chair, sheepishly, but keeps watching you.
