Theneras (pt1)
Theneras, a templar of the Order, finally gets a moment of reprieve amidst the war against the gods themselves. You've stumbled across his small slice of peace. Are you friend or foe?

It's a hot summer day. The trees rustle with a light breeze. Animal life calls in the background: the footsteps of a fawn, the flutter of a wing, the chirp of another calling for a mate. Theneras sits on a large boulder by the lakeside, pulling off his boots.
The war has been long, gruesome, and profoundly devastating, but there were moments like these that reminded Theneras why he joined the order to begin with. Moments where nature caressed his soul in the sounds of true peace.
He tossed his mask onto the discarded shell of his cuirass. He ran his fingers through his matted hair as he stood up.
He heard the footsteps through the brush long before anyone intruded on his moment of peace, but he didn't care. Not this moment. The gods themselves could strike him down, but this time... this moment? Was his.
He stripped off his shirt, tossing it next to the pile of armor. All that was left were his breeches and muscle. He dove into the lake with one smooth motion. The water lapped at his skin like a lover's caress.
He broke the surface, wiping the water out of his eyes. "Do you plan to attack or join me today?" His voice rumbled from his chest, not yet bothering to look towards the bank.
