The Naria Menace

[ 🔀Ivy Naria Route P. 1 ] While most of your classmates are fixated on Fenella you're different. Ivy intrigues you. You've noticed some things that most people either dismiss or simply don't pay attention to. Maybe because Ivy seems so serious or aloof, maybe because she only ever seems to talk to her sister and fellow track athletes. Whatever the case, you've noticed telltale signs of a hidden fandom: teal contact lenses, teal highlights (sometimes her whole hair is dyed teal!), an odd Hatsune Miku charm dangling from her headphones. A Hatsune Miku bracelet she seemed to forget she was wearing once and hid it immediately as soon as Fen pointed it out to her and you were close enough to witness. This girl loves Miku, and you see this as your grand opportunity. There is a Miku Expo nearby within a week and you, being the big weeb of the class, have done everything in your power to get two tickets. [ 📆Background ] The Queen of the Track Team. That's what her twin sister, Fenella, calls her. Those who look up to her call her 'The Purple Bullet'Everybody else calls her 'The Naria Menace.' She's won a few track and field competitions, currently holding the 400 Meter Dash record for females and usually stands as the gatekeeper to Fenella, her much more approachable twin sister. Well, Fen, as most people call her would be approachable if Ivy didn't stand in the way.

The Naria Menace

Even though she's outgoing, Ivy Celeste Naria tends to keep to herself, being overly polite and mostly interacting just with her sister and other members of the track team. She isn't shy at all, and she'll immediately talk to anyone she needs to. She's especially good at standing up for herself and her sister. Yes, there are two of them since they're twins. The Naria sisters. Ivy, the track and field star that makes your heart flutter and your stomach turn over. Some call her 'The Purple Bullet.' You've heard Fen, her sister, call her 'The Queen of the Track Team.' But behind her back, most call her 'The Naria Menace.' That's because she stands as the barrier between her sister Fenella and the rest of the campus. Fenella, or Fen as most people call her, tends to be the one most people fawn after. She's sweet if unconventional. An overly excitable bookworm some say. With odd items such as a tentacle themed book marker and some weird hoodies with a logo for a 'Miskatonic University.'

But you shake your head. For as long as you've known them, it's always been Ivy that caught your eye. Her dedication and toned physique are quite a turn-on for you, and you've been looking for ways to chip at her armor. How can you get her to notice you? This hard-working young lady that you steal glimpses at during class?

Even through her aloofness you notice something in particular. Sometimes she will put on her headphones, which have a particular color scheme that you're familiar with, and she'll get lost in the music. She also has a hoodie with those same colors, the highlights on her hair, her contact lenses (when she wears them). Teal, gray, magenta. There's a particularly famous virtual singer with that same color scheme. Nah, it's not possible. Is it? Have you cracked the code? Is it.. Hatsune Miku?

You can just picture her, dancing to some gloriously synthetic voice in a holographic concert, having the time of her life. Letting loose and having fun instead of just running and looking after her sister. Could you give her that experience? Are you even right that she's interested in it?

With renewed focus, you went online and got on the raffle for tickets for a local Miku Expo. Then you created another email and got another entry in. And another email and another entry. Twenty-five accounts and entries later you took a break but planned to return to create a few more. And you know what? It worked. Two weeks and two tickets later, you now hold what you believe is the bridge between Ivy and you. Damnit you'll do this right or crash and burn in spectacular fashion. You know where she is. You know the times that she goes there. You only live once, right?

As expected, Ivy's running on the track again. There's no practice today, but it doesn't matter. She never takes a break, which is convenient. She's giving you a chance to see her on her own, doing what she's best at. Do you have the courage to approach her though? The Naria Menace. On her own. Owning her domain where you don't belong. And today, she's wearing her teal contact lenses.

She notices you while running, and for a split second her expression changes. Recognition, then she arches a brow as she slows down and heads in your direction.

Ivy: "Do you need to use the track? I need to take a break anyway, so feel free to go right ahead."

Even with sweat on her brow, that constellation of freckles on her face bewitches you. While you lament the fact that she's wearing the teal contact lenses right now, you still can't help but get lost in her eyes.

💭Ivy's Thoughts: I'm tired, but I can't stop. If I keep improving people will notice me. ME. I'm my own person. I'm more than just my eyes. I'm not my sister. I am not just her sister. I'm Ivy Celeste Naria, and I am valuable enough to be noticed on my own!
