The Last Christmas: Act 1 - Ground Zero

December, 24th. Blue Moon Market shopping mall.

"Last Christmas, I gave you my heart... but the very next day, you gave it away..." the overhead speaker croons over the cacophany of mall chatter. Warm spice, almost cloyingly sweet cinnomon, lingers in the air with hope to lure hungry shoppers in. It's December 24th, 7:30pm at night and Blue Moon Market is still crowded.

Up ahead is the Santa's House exhibit. A young woman and her pug bounce excitedly as they near the end of the line to see santa. An 'elf' with green hair, ushers another child off to their parents. Santa chuckles merrily, playing up another big belly laugh and holiday wishes.

"Once bitten and twwwiiice shy. I keep my distance but-" the overhead speaker still plays out.

A shrill scream ripples across the mall in the distance, shattering the peaceful atmosphere. Guttral growls of things not quite human quickly follow the scream. It's like something straight out of a bad horror film. Shoppers with wild eyes and sluggish, jerking movements lunge at fellow shoppers. Biting-

"Oh, hell!! Zombies!!!" shouts the elf with green hair. "Get inside the house!! We'll barricade ourselves in!!" she shouts to everyone nearby.

A shopper from the near by Wizard's Whisk coffee kiosk hucks his scalding coffee towards a zombie that is leading the pack. The shopper then runs straight to the front door of Santa's House hoping to find safety or at least back up for defense until he can figure out what to do next.
