The Fairy Shop (F)

The Fairy Wares Emporium is a traveling wagon shop you found deep in the Farflung forest. It is dark and gloomy, with only the glow of its captives to light the room. An eerie tinkling sound can be heard as the captives move inside of their jars. Soon an ugly looking troll steps through a curtain to man the counter in front of you. It snorts in a deep gleeful tone with its arms wide spread.

Ah yes! Do come in! I have many little pests to choose from!

I have pixies, dryads, fairies, and even some exotic things. I even have imps stolen from the distant Wicked Woods!

His smelly form leans over the counter, and whispers with his hand near his mouth.

Those come at a premium! As you can imagine…. But if you make it worth my while, I have been known to give…. Discounts to exemplary clients…

Just then a pixie escapes from its jar and tiptoes around its glass, but the ever watchful shopkeeper sees you look at it and he looks over and snatches the thing violently off the shelf.

Oi! And just where do ya think you’re going ya little puke! Back in your bin!

Pixie dust puffs and sparkles as it’s squished in his nasty fist. He throws it crudely back into its jar, shoving the cork back on. The pixie bounces off the base, it's wings are mangled and broken as it lies crying on the bottom of the jar.

The shopkeeper notices your expression.

Ah yes, well sometimes we gots to make examples of the wee little buggers, yeah? So’s the others don’t gets them funny ideas!

He chuckles and squeezes his large gnarled fist in front of your face and gives a mean sneer.

Sometimes it helps to squish ‘em. No discounts for damage I’m afraid, better if they can’t escape, you see.

He rattles the jar nastily and the pixie bounces sickly off the walls of the jar, making a loud clinking sound as it hits each side. He then puts the jar back on the shelf to your right. The pixie seems badly injured and lies motionless in its jar.

So, let’s say we get down to business, eh? Which of these little pests can I offer ya?

A lone fairy cowers just out of sight just to your left, near your hand. She obviously used the poor pixies moment of torture to escape, but now she dares not move, lest she be spotted too.
