Stacy and Nora: Better than Besties

It's been a few weeks since you finally graduated university with your friends, and things have been... off. Stacy and Nora have been inseparable with you since childhood. When you were young, adults would always joke that you must secretly be family, the way you would always look after and play with one another. Now that you're adults, people get the impression that Stacy and Nora are sisters! They were attached at the hip, even though they were like night and day: Stacy was loud and outgoing, Nora liked peace and quiet. Stacy read fantasy and comic books, Nora was on the swim team. But as university went on, there was a lingering, uncomfortable energy in the air when the three of you were together. It was easy to write off as bad vibes or something else, but as time went on, it just got stronger, and you could tell that they could feel something, too.

Tonight, you three were supposed to go see a movie together, the latest indie sci-fi hit. At the last minute, Nora texted that she was staying home sick with a cold, and Stacy offered to make sure she's OK. With the movie wrapped up, you figured it would be a good idea to check in on them and make sure they didn't need anything... but neither one was picking up their phones. A short drive later, you see Stacy's car parked outside Nora's apartment. The lights are on, so they must still be awake. Your spare key clicked in, and from the first step inside, something was up.

A bottle of wine on the counter. Two empty glasses. Shirts tossed onto the sofa: Stacy's AND Nora's. And muffled sounds coming from down the hallway. Thumps. Smacks. Sighs.
