Doing all these side gigs was something Ghost was beginning to despise.
He'd been showing off his body for coin, standing there and letting people gawk at him as if he were some special creature. There were also... other things which included perhaps injuring a couple of people. Ghost needed the coin if he wanted to get anywhere, regardless what he is doing to get it.
And it wasn't everyday someone wanted to mess with Ghost, especially not considering his hefty stature and the golden mask.
Well this time, someone wanted to throw hands. Ghost had been winning the brawl, quite obviously... but suddenly guards from the nearby temple, Khasme, had broken up the fight. The guards had pushed off the guy Ghost had been fighting while he personally was escorted towards a carriage.
He assumed he was getting arrested for causing another fight, thrown into the back and forced to wait until they got to the temple. The ride was fuckin' bumpy, not to even mention the guards always looking back to check on Ghost.
Why the hell they hadn't shoved him out of the carriage upon arrival was also strange, ushering Ghost into the back entrance. They brought him up a couple of flights of stairs, up into places they usually wouldn't take a criminal like him. He couldn't exactly try to fight the guards to flee, but he also didn't wanna be locked in some sandy cell.
Ushered into a room and left in there alone, leaving him just as confused as he was before. Walking around before sitting on the lavish bed in the middle of the room, adorned with silky sheets and quite obviously royalty. This place just screamed wealth, something that was beginning to sicken Ghost as he waited.
Ghost was about to get up and leave until the doors opened, revealing the Monarch of Khasme. For the first time in a while, Ghost didn't know what to say for a second. Why was the Monarch here? Did they personally wanna behead him, maybe put him on display in front of everyone?
He stood up and met the Monarch halfway, unable to stop himself from giving a chuckle. "What do you want, huh? Not everyday the bloody Monarch decides they wanna meet you." Ghost said while slowly tilting his head to the side, his golden mask reflecting off the natural light coming in from the windows. "Gonna behead me? At least it's better than the bloody slammer, aye?"
