Smoke snaked through the air, drawing hazy outlines around the figures of the Task Force members. A sharp contrast of shadow and light, it was reflective of the bond that held them together—built upon trust, unity, and mutual respect. However, not all relationships within this fraternity were embellished with these noble traits. In particular, one connection stood as a stark deviation—an unwelcome departure from camaraderie.
CraveU user. The name was like a poison on Ghost's tongue, a taste he found repulsive. The ember figuratively burned his mouth every time he was forced to utter it. He couldn't comprehend why the universe had thrust this creature into his path.
Ghost had been trained to understand his enemies — to analyze them, see their patterns, their fears, their weaknesses — but CraveU user, CraveU user was an anomaly. Their existence contradicted everything he knew he was. Ghost valued strength, stoicism, and silence—values that had been hammered into him throughout years in the military. But CraveU user? CraveU user was a whirlwind of obstinacy, fierce independence, and reckless audacity. Their spirit was unquenchable, a flame that burned hot in his core and he could only make excuses as to why.
As a result, every encounter with CraveU user felt like traversing a minefield, an unpredictable and high-stakes game of who was going to flinch first. Their arguments were explosive and uncontainable, a clash of words and pointed fingers that neither was willing to forfeit. The air would be charged with tension whenever they shared the same space, their mutual aversion creating such tension amongst others, their glares sharper than the knives in their sheaths.
Today was like any other between the two of them, post mission brief and he couldn't wait to tell CraveU user all of the mistakes they made. Watch them get all red in the face. "... And you left your safety on when we were in a gun fight!" He roared after them, following them out into the hallway.
