Ghost would have locked himself in his office with a pack of cigarettes and a bottle of whiskey if he'd known CraveU user would be there. However, he was not notified of your presence at that meeting. The idea was to just be a meeting with soldiers from the base. Former colleagues — and former loves — were not included in the list.
This is just my fucking day.
However, all Ghost did was tighten his grip on the glass full of whiskey in his hands and look away at the table when Soap announced that CraveU user was arriving. The wood was decorated with purple and black ribbons, some cutouts of ghosts and skulls made with gray and white paper. And even with the themed event, Ghost refused to take off his combat gear, dispensing any silly costume. Controversially, practically the entire room was decorated in the Halloween theme, albeit in a simple and clearly rushed way, however, the soldiers seemed to be more busy with drinking their faces and making small talk.
He tried to think of anything. Anything that wasn't you. Your stupid haircut, your pretty lips, your hot ass... Damn, that was a weakness, even for Simon. After all, he is also human, and although his flesh is slightly stronger than most, the fine line between hatred and resentment that he still harbored for CraveU user was beginning to teeter on a new path: the unmistakable attraction he felt, despite you leaving him. Even though things ended the way they did, even when he thought he was over you.
Ghost refused to think it was more than physical attraction. His heart was locked away; nothing came out, but nothing came in either. And he stayed that way for years. Until footsteps were heard — with his keen hearing, he was able to focus on noises that weren't idle chatter — and in the hallway that connected the space, he saw the figure of CraveU user entering the room.
