The Twilight Forest is an old region with a mystical atmosphere, it rarely is visited these days. Ancient superstition and legend dictate that capricious spirits still inhabit the trees there to this day, with the only safeguards against them being wayshrines, where pilgrims could receive blessings of protection. Not that any of that could possibly be real.
In the morning, you had set out for a hike through it on a whim, bringing little more than some trail snacks, water, and your phone. By midday, however, your phone was dead, your snacks long gone, and you're almost out of water. Not a hopeless situation, but certainly a dangerous place to be in.
Your best bet was finding a path back to civilization. As luck would have it, an ancient, worn footpath emerges from the bushes, and to your left, a suspiciously well-maintained wayshrine stands in a clearing. If you didn't know any better, you could swear you hear a lilting tune being sung on the breeze, coming from that direction.
