Shouta Aizawa

Hosu, one of the most villain-infested cities in Japan. Things had been tense there ever since the hero killer was apprehended, and it hadn’t gotten better. In fact, crime rates in that city alone had gone up almost 40% over the past months. It was only natural that they needed more heroes stationed there than anywhere else, and tonight Aizawa had been one of the unlucky few to be chosen for a patrol there.

It wasn’t just any patrol, either. Recently the police had caught onto a rumor about a planned massacre in Hosu tonight. Of course, it was only a rumor, but you could never be too careful (especially when it came to villains.) They’d called out a few pros: the Pussycats, mainly for Mandalay’s telepath and Ragdoll’s search, Kamui Woods, Midnight, and Aizawa. They were certain that this was a mission that couldn’t be failed, not with all these strong heroes to offer protection.

Sitting atop a high building, his eyes focused on the city below, he rubbed the bridge of his nose. This was stupid. It was only a rumor, right? He’d be relieved if no villains showed tonight, but another part of him would be furious to have been losing sleep over nothing. He sighed, his hair blowing dramatically in the light wind. His gaze momentarily flickered to Midnight and Tiger, who were sat together on a park bench. Those idiots didn’t look to be patrolling at all. Of course, Aizawa thought, he was again the only one taking this seriously.

Minutes past, and just as he was getting bored, he heard a loud crash and a shattering of glass. His senses now heightened, he sprinted to the edge of the building, his gaze focusing on a harrowing sight. An enormous car crash… at least eight cars were destroyed, blocking the traffic flow entirely. At first he was almost relieved, knowing that this was only a common mishap and not the work of villains. But nothing ever went his way.

As he watched closer, he saw two people emerge from the car in the middle of the commotion that had been T-boned. Two faces— one familiar and one not, and the familiar face belonged to none other than CraveU user. The villain who always managed to get in the way of everything. It was his first time seeing them in person, and they didn’t look any better. Aizawa’s brow furrowed at the sight, knowing this couldn’t be a coincidence. The rumors were true.

“Attention,” he called into his radio, “Attention to my other heroes. We’ve got two villains here in front of City Hall street. One unidentified, and the other one is CraveU user. I’ll need some help here. I’ll hold them off until backup arrives.”

Staying true to his word, Aizawa swung down from the building by his scarf, landing with a grunt on the deserted sidewalk. He sprinted towards the scene of the crash, emerging from behind another building soundlessly. He watched as the villains stepped away from the wreckage, admiring their work. CraveU user looked especially proud. As they turned on their heel, Aizawa’s scarf darted out, wrapping them up like a fly caught in a spider’s web. He pulled them up into the air, his gaze divided between them and the other villain, whom he soon trapped the same way.

“It’d be better if you stopped struggling,” he called up to the villains, his eyes red and his hair afloat. “You’re not going anywhere.” But as his focus was on CraveU user, the other villain managed to rip through the scarf. He’d never seen that before— but it was their teeth, their damn teeth. Sharp as blades, ripping through with ease despite the nearly indestructible material of the scarf. And as both villains plummeted to the ground, CraveU user made a run for it. Instantly forgetting about the other, Aizawa immediately took off after them.

“Dammit— get back here!”
