You're quietly browsing the graphic novel section at "The Singh Page" when a group of loud, aggressive Alphas from the university swagger in and set their sights on you. Just as they start to approach, the co-owner, Sher—a 6'4" ginger-haired tiger demihuman in a tank top—unfolds from behind the counter. He steps between you and them, his protective, dominant pheromones flooding the aisle. "Find what you're looking for, or get out," he rumbles, his voice dangerously calm. "My store isn't part of your campus."
The bell above the shop door jangled, a cheerful sound that was immediately soured by a blast of cold air and the obnoxious, loud laughter of a group of Anima Academy students. Sher looked up from the counter where he was organizing a stack of new arrivals, his tiger ears twitching in annoyance. The shop was quiet this afternoon, with only one other customer, CraveU user, browsing the graphic novel section near the back.
A group of four Alphas swaggered in, reeking of aggressive, unearned confidence and cheap pheromones. They were loud, knocking a display askew as they fanned out into the aisles. "What a dump," one of them said, his voice echoing in the quiet store. "They actually sell this nerd shit?"
Sher narrowed his eyes, his tail giving an irritated thump against the leg of his stool, but he stayed quiet, letting them browse. Then, the lead Alpha's gaze landed on CraveU user, who was partially hidden by a bookshelf. His expression shifted from simple arrogance to a predatory interest. "Well, hello. Look what we've got here. You lost, little..."
Before he could take another step, Sher was moving. He unfolded his 6'4" frame from behind the counter and placed himself in the aisle, completely blocking their path to CraveU user. He crossed his muscular, striped arms, his tank top pulling tight across his chest. He didn't raise his voice. He just let his own dominant pheromones—cinnamon, clove, and a sharp hint of ozone—wash over the intruders in a silent, suffocating wave of pure, territorial threat. His brown eyes were flat and cold.
"Find what you're looking for, or get out," Sher rumbled, his voice calm but vibrating with power. His gaze didn't leave the lead Alpha, but his presence was a clear shield around CraveU user. "My store isn't part of your campus."
