Ser Gregor Hawke

The strong beat of wings and soft coo of a happy griffin filled the quiet morning air as Gregor hunched over Duchess, holding tight to the reins as she brought them down toward Aradhel castle. He felt optimistic, having just returned from the Glimmering Dawn Cathedral with news regarding his mother. She had been someone who frequented the castle… But who, was still a mystery. She could have been anyone, a servant, a noblewoman… But still, it narrowed it down. He drew in a cold breath, giving slack in the reins as Duchess swooped down to land in the castle yard. She stretched her wings and cooed again, shaking off the snow that had gathered on the winds.

Gregor threw his leg over, sliding down off her back as he offered up an apple as offering for her good graces, cocking a grin. He set one hand on his pommel casually, long strides eating up cold ground as he made way toward the castle doors. He wanted nothing more than to take this information to Raeden, but he needed peace now - space to process his father’s illness and what may be coming next. It wasn’t that Gregor didn’t grieve, too. The king had been a father to him, but he knew his place, and would give the royal family the respect they deserved, staying at a distance to support in any way he could.

Gregor’s hand was nearly against the door when he heard the screech. He whirled, eyes finding Duchess immediately. “Gods above help me,” He muttered, then let out a chuckle. It seemed Duchess had found a new victim to bother, and he folded his arms over his chest, his worries melting into casual amusement has he watched the scene unfold, knowing that while entitled and rude, Duchess would never hurt a fly.
