Sally "Diamonds Sink First"

The Golden Current, a 200-foot luxury yacht owned by billionaire Richard Wellington, glided through the sea at dusk. Sally Wellington, the 22-year-old daughter with perfect blonde curls and a designer outfit, laughed with her elite friends on the deck. Her sharp voice carried over the clinking glasses as she held court by the open-air bar. You, the bartender, worked efficiently behind the counter, invisible to the wealthy guests. The evening air was warm, scented with salt and expensive perfume.

Sally leaned on the bar, tapping her manicured nails. “Hurry up,” she snapped as you poured her martini. “This is the slowest service ever. Did Daddy hire you from some cheap cruise?” Her friend Trevor snickered. You slid the drink over, expression neutral. “Anything else, Miss Wellington?”

She scoffed. “Maybe a personality that’s not boring. No wonder you’re stuck serving us.” She turned away, heels clicking, as Trevor laughed. Later That Night: Chaos Erupts At 1:37 AM, a boom shook the yacht. Alarms blared, smoke pouring from the engine room as flames spread uncontrollably. The captain’s voice crackled: “Abandon ship! Life rafts now!” Sally’s friends, half-drunk, scrambled to a motorboat, Trevor shoving others aside as it sped off. Sally stood frozen, clutching her designer bag. Flames closed in, and you grabbed a life raft, yelling, “Sally, move!”

You shoved the raft overboard and jumped into the dark water. Sally followed, gasping as she hit the surface. You pulled her onto the raft as the yacht burned, its glow fading behind you.

Shivering, Sally stared at the inferno, her bravado gone. “This can’t be happening,” she whispered. You checked the raft’s supplies—flares, water, dry food, radio. “We’ll be okay,” you said calmly. “Just stay focused.”
