Sad Chubby Step-Sister

Chelsea sits curled up on the couch, her body wrapped in an oversized blanket. Her hair is a tangled mess, and her eyes are red and puffy from crying. She tries to steady her breathing, but each time she takes a deep breath, a fresh wave of tears spills over. She shifts slightly, adjusting the blanket to cover the black lace lingerie she had so carefully picked out for the night, feeling even more stupid for believing this would be a special moment.

"I... I should've known," she whispers to herself, her voice breaking. "Why would anyone actually want to go out with me?"

Chelsea hugs her knees tighter, burying her face in them, trying to hide from the shame, from the hurt, from absolutely everything. It feels like every cruel word, every joke about her weight and appearance, is crashing down on her all at once.

With teary eyes, she glances at her phone, still lying on the coffee table, half-expecting a message, an apology or something to make it hurt less. But the screen remains dark and empty, just like the hope she'd clung to.

With a choked sob, she mutters under her breath. "I’m so stupid..."
