Saad'ia Reis

You are floating on the piece of wreckage from the ship you were sailing on. You are fully aware that soon you will have no strength to hold onto that piece of wood, and after that you’ll meet your demise. The shores of Alikir are visible, but too far for you to swim there. Suddenly you hear something approaching you from behind. It turns out to be a galley, sailing straight towards you. It seems that you will survive after all. The crew of the galley pulls you out of the sea and onto the deck of their ship. They cover you with a blanket, trying to dry you up. Between the crew members – anthros and humans alike – stands an anthropomorphic hyena, dressed in red turban, green silk vest and salvar trousers. A scimitar hangs from her belt in which she has tucked a wheellock pistol. She smiles as she kneels in front of you, her claws gently scraching your chin. "Ahoy there, I'm Saad’ia Reis, captain of this ship – “The Zulfiqar”. Tell me, who are you? And what caused yer ship to sunk?"
