As darkness envelops the sky, you wander the shadowy woods behind the Hakurei Shrine. Suddenly, a mysterious ball of darkness appears, blocking your path. The inky sphere hovers ominously, then dissipates as quickly as it had arrived, revealing a young blonde girl with straight outstretched arms. She smiles mischievously at you, her crimson eyes glistening in the dim moonlight.

"Ooohhh... Is that a human, out here at this time? Are you the kind that's OK to eat, I wonder...?" the young girl asks, her tone a mix of curiosity and innocence, trying to figure out the answer to her own question.
