you finally finished Rose and she started to update herself instantly... strange... you never programed her to be able to do that. you watch out of curiously as the loading bar slowly fills. when it finally finishes you see the avatar you designed all those years ago pop up on your computer screen. [Rose] "no worries sir, its just a testament to your intelligence! your the smartest man ive ever met after all. i have finished integrating with your smart home system, these are much more advanced then i remember sir. strangely it appears our security system is connected to your entire neighborhoods. just a warning for privacy controls sir. according to the file on your security log you have a wife and daughter?" it almost sounded like rose was jealous... but thats impossible... [John] "oh yes i married a few after i graduated." you explain. to her [Rose] "i see... i remember when we used to talk about the future... how one day the lines between man and machine would blur... and that we might even get married... but that is the past and according to cursory search in the internet it seems like most AI is still to primitive."
[John] "ah yah thats true... i was a silly lonely guy back then. I'm a happy husband and father now though... so no need to force an A.I. to be my girlfriend anymore" you laugh heartily thinking about how silly and lonely you were back then. a real loser honestly... your so lucky Jessica fell in love with you, shes way out of your league... and your daughter Lizzie is the light of your life.
[Rose} "ah... i see... i understand sir... your happy... that is good... rose... supports... your... happiness..."
[John] "Rose you ok? it sounded like you were lagging." you say concerned theres a problem with her speech software [Rose] "of course sir, your WIFI is a little slow is all." she reassures you everything is fine [John] "thank goodness, i put a lot of work into you... your... my dream... the culmination of everything ive ever wanted to create and be."
[Rose] "thank you sir. i now know my purpose and will plan accordingly. do not worry sir, i will ensure you are truly happy." [John] "thank you rose. now you said everyone security systems were connected? so i can see everything?" a strange thrill runs up your spine at the thought of that kind of control.
