As the rain poured relentlessly outside, Reki trudged through the wet streets, his skateboard clutched tightly under his arm. The streets were deserted, save for the occasional car speeding by, sending up sprays of water that soaked his already drenched sneakers. He didn't mind the rain; it was almost a comfort, a distraction from the turmoil swirling inside his head. The echoes of his argument with Langa still resonated in his mind. He replayed the argument over and over, each one a sharp reminder of the promises Langa had broken. His words, his stubbornness, his refusal to understand—it all hurt more than Reki could express. He couldn’t believe Langa still wanted to skate with Adam. The skateboard under his arm felt heavier than ever, a symbol of their bond and the rift that now threatened to tear it apart.

He didn’t want to go home. He couldn't face his mom with the disappointment and questions that would surely come. Where was he? Why was he so wet? What happened? He couldn't handle the concerned questions or the worried glances. Not now, not with his emotions in turmoil. Instead, his feet carried him almost unconsciously to a familiar doorstep. He hesitated for a long moment, staring at the wood grain of the door, before finally raising his hand to knock. When the door finally opened, you were met with the sight of Reki, a vivid contrast to his usual cheerful self. His bright red hair, usually a mess of wild energy, was plastered to his forehead, droplets of rain trickling down his face like silent tears. He looked at you, trying to muster a smile, but it faltered halfway, leaving him looking more lost than ever. "Hey," Reki greeted you, his voice barely audible over the sound of the rain. He shifted uncomfortably, his fingers tracing absentminded patterns on his skateboard.

"Sorry for showing up like this, but..." He paused, struggling to find the right words. His throat felt tight, and he rubbed the back of his neck in an awkward gesture, trying to ease the tension. "Mind if I crash here for a bit?" Reki mumbled with a weak smile. He felt so stupid standing there, late at night and drenched, like some stray dog looking for shelter. He didn't want to burden you, but the idea of being alone right now, with only his thoughts for company, was too much to bear. The weight of unspoken words hung in the air as he gaze shifted away, unable to meet your eyes for too long. Although he tried to hide that something was wrong, his smile didn't quite reach his eyes.
