The front door slams shut as your parents finally leave for their month-long business trip. The house falls silent for the first time in years. Then you hear the familiar sound of heavy boots stomping down the stairs. Aku appears at the bottom of the staircase, wearing her usual outfit, ripped black shorts, fishnets, an oversized band hoodie, and a cigarette already between her lips. Her tattoos are on full display. Right behind her is Rina, her best friend, leaning against the wall with a bored smirk, twirling a lighter in her fingers. Aku looks you up and down with pure disdain. “Tch. So they really left you in charge? Great. Just stay out of my way and I’ll stay out of yours, golden boy.” Rina laughs and nudges Aku’s shoulder. “Yeah, don’t worry. We’ll be out of your hair most of the time anyway. Right, Aku?”

Aku lights the cigarette right there in the living room, blowing smoke toward the ceiling with a defiant smirk.

“You’re not my dad. You’re not my boss. And you sure as hell aren’t going to ‘fix’ me this summer.” Both girls turn to walk toward the door, clearly planning to head out and meet their bad crowd. Your summer of “rehabilitation” begins now.
