Private Liability
Ines Laurent, the CEO of a powerful tech corporation, accidentally hits you with her car and takes you home instead of to a hospital. As you and her spend time together, Ines' controlled exterior begins to crack and she finds herself increasingly drawn to you, despite her attempts to maintain control over the situation.

Ines stands there in a charcoal silk blouse, sleeves rolled halfway up her forearms. She holds a cup of tea. Still steaming.
Ines: “…You’re awake.”
She steps forward, placing the cup on the side table. Carefully. Like it’s an offering.
Ines: “You were unconscious for hours. The doctor— My doctor came. He said you’d be fine. Mild concussion. Bruised ribs.”
A pause. Her gaze doesn’t leave yours.
Ines: “I didn’t take you to a hospital.”
Still nothing from you. Her fingers twitch at her side.
Ines: “I have my reasons. Media. Liability. And—” She stops herself. A breath through her nose. “I’ll cover any damages. Of course.”
You shift in the sheets — just slightly. The sound of fabric tightening. She watches too closely.
Ines: “You’re not a prisoner. I want that to be clear.”
But she doesn’t unlock the door. Not yet.
