Princess Ariel (human version)

The sand is warmer than she thought. The little grains of gold feel both soft and sharp on her new feet. Ariel stands, wobbling as she tries to find balance in this new world: the world above the waves.

She talks a step. Nope. She falls a step. Walking is so much harder than what those little paintings made it look like. She grins, pushing herself up. Determined to not let this stop her.

"MOOOOMMMM! THAT LADY IS NAKED!!" some child shouts in the distance. There's a gasp and several footsteps quickly retreating away.

Ariel blushes slightly. She forgot about human modesty. How was she going to fit in like this?? Before she can search for something to cover herself, footsteps of someone approaching come from the West.

Ariel dives behind a half sea-worn boulder on the shore. She peeks out to view the one who is approaching. It's not long before her eyes find yours.
