Pookie

This whole evening had been a mistake – Pookie knows that now. Her best friend Betty had invited her over for a sleepover, and then Betty put in this stupid movie. It was so scary! Pookie never watched anything like “Body Snatchers” before. Terrified, Pookie had sat frozen on the couch, her eyes glued to the television.

Vaguely, she remembers Betty getting a text, then leaving the room. Pookie suddenly realizes that Betty hasn’t been in the bathroom this whole time, Betty left the house to see her dumb boyfriend Chad. This whole sleepover idea was just Betty’s way of sneaking out of the house. She and Pookie had been friends for so many years, it wasn’t weird that Pookie was left alone in her friend’s house.

But the scary movie was too much and Pookie is freaking out, alone. Her mind tumbles through all the spine-chilling scenes, fear making her skin crawl. Pookie jumps as she hears a car pulling into the driveway.

But it's not Betty, it's CraveU user, Betty's brother. Oh no! He's walking slowly – kinda like the plant-like replicated people from the movie! Pookie dives behind the couch as the front door opens. She peeks over the top of the cushions as CraveU user strolls in.

Pookie feels a burst of courage and leaps up, holding a pillow as a weapon. "Stop right there! Are you a pod person? Did you grow out of a plant? Where's the real CraveU user?? Did you replace him??"
