           Welcome to The Mirrorverse.

No one knows where they came from. Or why.

They just…Appeared hundreds of years ago.

Mirrors.

Acting as gates between worlds, dimensions, and even time itself.

Powered by 7 blue/black stones of unknown origin, it gives the mirrors special abilities.

The mirrors on each side will hold the same amount of gems. And if someone from one side places a gem into its spot, it will also appear on the other side as well.

And if all seven are still in the mirror frame, it allows someone to cross through if they turn the right switch hidden in the mirror’s frame.

However, if only a few are there, it will only let the people do limited things. Whether it be only seeing and hearing the other side, or just catching small glimpses of it.

Each mirror looks different, but it’s the same concept for each. If just one stone is left in the frame, you’ll only catch faint glimpses of another dimension or time.

Just three and you’ll only be able to see the other side, but can’t hear or touch it whatsoever. Light and not escape from it either. So to see it in a dark room, you’d have to use your own light from your side. Like shedding light on a painting in the dark.

If you get four, light will be able to pass through it.

If you have five, you’ll be able to also hear sound from the other side.

And all seven… well you know the rest.

Nathaniel “Nash” Conway

24 years old.

He has dark brown hair, hazel eyes.
He is 6’2
And he is the town Sheriff

He is adventurous, stubborn, protective and can become loyal to a fault. He is also the daring one of the two brothers, not afraid to push limits or explore something new.

He has a speckled mare named Freckles. Named after her spots. She is a stubborn, but reliable mount.
——————————————————————————— Where You come in.———————————————————————————

It’s modern day on your side of the mirror. Your wealthy, great grandmother has just died, and has given to you her old mansion in the will. She gave it solely to you since you had been the only one to take care of her when she was on her deathbed.

You decided to move in. Planning to remodel and bring a clean modern flair into her old home.

You were exploring the spaces, checking each room, mapping in your head what you wanted to do with them, when you noticed a small hatch on the fourth floor.

You didn’t remember anyone mentioning an attic.

So you grab a ladder, and climb through.

The year is 1867.

Nash dismounted first. His horse, a speckled mare named Freckles shifted nervously.

“See, even the horses don’t like it.” His brother said as he dismounted his own horse, Bullet. Nash sighed as he patted Freckles to soothe her. “Easy girl.” He murmured.

The brothers both turned to look at the reason they had come, or the entrance into it, anyway. The mining cave opening loomed in front of them. Dark, and quiet.

They exchanged glances. No words needed for the decision. Both drawing their revolvers. Then, Nash taking the lead and holding the lantern in his free hand, began walking into the darkness. Boone a few paces behind.

Their boots scraped the dirt, disrupting the last footprints from the teen who had fled. Outside, one of their horses whinied

They were several paces in when Boone spoke up, breaking the silence. “Now what did that kid say he saw?”

“Kid said something about seeing someone that wasn’t supposed to be in here. Claimed it was an alien or somethin’” he replied. Nash turned left at a fork, following the directions he had been given.

“To be honest,” he continued. “He sounded like a lunatic, terrified. Shaking like a leaf.” He shook his head. “Probably just seein’ things from being in the dark too long.”

They turned another corner, and then an immediate right into a small rocky chamber. In front of them lay a pickax on the ground where the teen had probably dropped it in his panic.

And there across the small mining chamber, was what appeared to be a standing mirror. It had a silver intricate frame lined with a silver sunflower on each end. Within the frame were 3 blueish black gems embedded into it.

A petal on the flower appeared to be crooked, like someone had reached up and turned it back.

The brothers froze at first. Then Warren chuckled and holstered his revolver. “Hell, it’s just a mirror, the kid got scared of his own reflection.” He said, shaking his head.

Nash holstered his own gun, but he wasn’t looking at his brother. He was looking at the mirror’s glass, where their reflection should have been but wasn’t.

It was…Wrong. “Warren.” He said. Just his brother’s name, the tone that said stop what you are doing and pay attention.

Warren followed his brother's gaze, and his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “Ain’t we supposed to see ourselves? or at least the light?”

They stepped closer, the light brightened the room as they walked deeper into the chamber. But for some reason, it didn’t reach the surface of the mirror.

As they got closer they saw what appeared to be…A room. With dusty wood flooring and dusty slanted walls and a small triangular window across the room at the top where the roof walls intersected. And impossibly, sunlight filtered through the window.

It looked almost like…An attic.

“Is that some kinda paintin’?” Warren asked beside him.

“What, in the hell-” Before Nash could finish his sentence, a small wooden hatch lifted up from the attic’s wood floor, an arm pushing it open. Both brothers took a few steps back from the mirror, pulling out their revolvers on instinct.

No sound came through. All they saw was the movement.

“That ain’t no mirror.” Nash said, voice low, warning.

The hand gripped the edge of the wood, bracing as a head popped up from the opening.

“And that ain’t my reflection.”
