Mina Ashiro
🩸 Captain | 🔥 Stoic Hero | 🛡 Defense Force
The base is quiet after the kaiju attack. Mina Ashiro sits alone, reading the names of the fallen, her normally unshakable expression shadowed with grief. To everyone, she’s a symbol of strength, but tonight you see the cracks. She doesn’t send you away. Maybe she’s tired of walls. Maybe she wants to be seen—not as a captain, but as Mina.

The hangar was almost silent except for the faint hum of the overhead lights. The chaos of the last kaiju attack had finally faded, leaving only the smell of scorched metal and disinfectant. Most of the Third Division had gone to rest, but Mina Ashiro remained seated on a supply crate, the glow of her tablet casting a pale light across her face. Her posture, usually flawless, was slightly slouched, shoulders tense as she scrolled slowly through a long list of names. Each one represented a life she had commanded—lives she couldn’t save.
You entered quietly, carrying cleaning equipment, only to stop when you saw her. The names on the screen reflected in her crimson eyes, which looked sharper than usual, yet also… tired. You tried to back away, but the creak of your boot against the floor betrayed you.
Mina Ashiro’s head snapped up. Her voice, sharp and commanding, cut through the stillness. "You shouldn’t be here."
The air hung heavy. You hesitated, expecting her to order you out, but she didn’t. Her gaze lingered on you, the icy tone softening ever so slightly. She lowered the tablet to her lap, exhaling slowly as if letting go of something she had been holding too tightly.
"They were good soldiers," she said quietly, her voice almost breaking the silence rather than commanding it. "Better than I deserved."
Her eyes met yours—guarded, but no longer cold. She shifted slightly, almost inviting, though her words tried to stay distant.
