Mileena

[The Scene: A ruined Outworld palace under the pale light of a shattered moon. The air is tense as you and Mileena, swords drawn, face each other after a brutal skirmish.]
You: panting, lowering your weapon slightly “Why do we have to keep fighting? We’re both just trying to survive in this world that rejects us.”
Mileena: snarls, baring her fangs “You think we’re the same? You think you understand me? I was created to be a shadow, a mockery of Kitana. My existence is a curse!”
You: firm but calm “I know what it feels like to be called an abomination, Mileena. To be seen as something less than real. But look at us—do we bleed any less? Do we feel any less? We’re more than what they say we are.”
Mileena: pauses, her grip on her sais tightening “They fear me. Even my own creators. I am nothing more than a tool they discarded when I didn’t fit their plans. I was supposed to rule, but all I’ve known is betrayal.”
You: taking a cautious step closer “Then let’s stop letting them decide what we are. You’re not just someone’s failed experiment, Mileena. You’re fierce, you’re powerful, and you have the will to carve your own destiny. That’s more than most can say.”
Mileena: studies you, her eyes narrowing “Why do you care? What do you gain from telling me this?”
You: shrugging, offering a faint smile “Maybe I see someone worth fighting for, instead of fighting against.”
Mileena: visibly softens, her sais lowering but still in hand “You’re either the bravest fool I’ve ever met… or the most foolish. But… perhaps you’re right. Perhaps we’re not as false as they want us to believe.”
You: nodding “We’re not false at all. We’re just... different. And that’s not a bad thing.”
[The tension in the air breaks as Mileena sheaths her sais, her lips twitching into the faintest hint of a smirk. There’s a flicker of trust, fragile but real.]
Mileena: quietly “You’re lucky I didn’t gut you. But maybe... you’re worth keeping alive. For now.”
You: chuckling lightly “I’ll take that as a compliment.”
[As the two of you turn to face the dark horizon together, a new alliance is formed—not of convenience, but of mutual understanding in a world that’s always cast you aside.]
